It wasn't easy to pick a winner, I've discussed the 6 entrees with several people. Some know the witchgirls as well as I do, others have never seen them before. This way I got a very good impression of which artist really made the best deviation.
Points we took into concideration:
How original is the drawing?
The finishing touch
How well did they use the chosen medium
The whole picture, do we like it?
Howmuch effort has the artist put into the drawing

There can only be one winner ofcourse, but we would like to mention 2nd and 3rd place aswell:

the characters involved must be from W.I.T.C.H. naturally
inspired, since that's what the contest is called
just one entry a person, it'll be hard enough as it is to select a winner. You can change your mind about your entry though, replacing it with one you think is better. Just make sure you don't miss the deadline
I do not accept writings and photography. The artwork has to be drawn by hand or computer.
I'm making the rules up as I go, so ... that's it for the moment

Okay.. First of all, I have to say that I don't know much about this whole situation. Yet here I am, writing a journal about it. And for good reason:
Mainly what I get is that $spyed kicked off of his position without pardon, giving no explanations.
Now, giving the fact that from what I gather $spyed cares more about the money going across on this site then the art itself, and that actually cares about the art more then the money, I say that's unacceptable.
Even though this community (and the community in question is the entire deviantart) is massive and it's hard to get a word across to ALL, it's much needed in this case.
I'm admin at multiple boards and chats and I know that when you de-admin an admin, you need to give an explanation. And that's only on small scale. On a big scale, it's needed much much much more.
So, $spyed , I dare you to speak up and tell us why exactly you did what you did. If you care about this site at all, you should respect the opinions of those on it. And seeing that there are uncountable opinions demanding to know like me, the fact that you don't explain a thing at all, only shows that people are right to assume you don't care about the community itself, but only about what money it brings you.
According to himself, he can not tell us much because of legal issues. I can believe that. But only partly. He sure as hell can tell us a lot more then he has uptill now.
Besides, if it had been in any way a good decision and with good reason, there wouldn't be as much protest on this as it is. Jealousy is a very common subject, and I think $spyed has suffered a great deal from it to go this far.
It's basically a war between the Ninja of deviant and the Alien of deviant. Well, check my name.. is it that suprising I took Jark's side? Seriously though, that has nothing to do with it. It's just a nice coincidence.
Still though, if deviantart is gonna be like this, I doubt I will be around much longer. I don't like being in a place that has no sense of honor or justice. Don't get me wrong. The community has it, but several of the admins apparantly have not.

Seems like Witchcraft too got a week of free subscription! I myself ( *SupremeAlien ) already have a subscription, and I can tell you, it's addicting.. But I'm drifting off...
It's been fairly quiet around here, except for the arrival of the new member *sonicsora welcome here.

First of all: hi! Guess who's back! It is I! The Supreme Alien!
No seriously, I'm going to become way more active again in the club, as I should, being a Captain. For instance, I'm going to make an animated avatar for our happy little club.
Second of all: little might not be the good word. We're becoming larger by the second it seems. Therefor, Pruts and I, as captains, changed the password. I know that it might be a bit more difficult to upload stuff, as you'd have to mail it first, but it makes the club a lot safer.
